The Journey

Every professional journey is shaped by experiences, learning and the ability to adapt with changing times.

Gopakumar Menon's journey began in the consumer products industry during an era when much of India's corporate history was not digitally documented. Those early years laid the foundation for his understanding of markets, customers, distribution, and business operations.

His professional journey started with Geoffrey Manners as an Area Manager, where he gained practical experience in sales leadership and market development.

He later joined Dabur India as a Regional Manager, taking on broader business responsibilities. During his tenure at Dabur, he gained exposure to large-scale organisational transformation, including working closely with McKinsey & Company on internal initiatives to integrate Dabur's divisions. These experiences provided valuable insights into structured management practices, business processes and organisational effectiveness.

During the integration following Dabur's acquisition of the Balsara Group, he was also exposed to external consulting engagements with Deloitte, which strengthened his understanding of business transformation and change management.

The journey continued with Parle Agro, where he moved into senior business leadership responsibilities, contributing to brand building, market development and business growth.

His corporate journey culminated in his role as CEO and Business Head – Consumer Products at GHCL, where he led business initiatives focused on growth, market expansion, and organisational development.

Speaker, Mentor and Knowledge Sharer

Throughout his career, Gopakumar Menon has believed that experience becomes more valuable when shared.

He was invited to address the Laghu Udyog Bharati Women Entrepreneurs Conference, which was inaugurated by Nirmala Sitharaman, then Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry. The conference brought together more than 1,000 women entrepreneurs, where he shared practical insights on “Empowering Micro and Small Enterprises to Achieve Global Competence in Manufacturing & Marketing.”

His commitment to supporting entrepreneurs continues in his role as a Startup Mentor with the Kerala Startup Mission, where he shares practical perspectives gained over decades of business leadership.

Entrepreneurial Journey

Driven by his interest in education and technology, Gopakumar Menon founded Disha Hub, an EdTech platform focused on helping students through mock tests, readiness assessments and performance analytics.

Recognising that assessment is one of the most effective ways to accelerate learning, Disha Hub has expanded beyond academic readiness into professional capability development. One such initiative is the AEO Readiness Test, developed by G-1 Communications and delivered through Disha Hub. Designed for SEO professionals, digital marketers, content creators, founders and business leaders, the assessment helps participants understand how AI systems interpret digital identity and identify opportunities to strengthen their AI Visibility through Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO).
