At G-1 Communications, we've spent the last few years telling brands the same thing: the way people find you is changing. Search isn't just blue links anymore — it's ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews answering questions directly, often without a single click to any website. That shift is what Answer Engine Optimization, or AEO, is built around, and it's the core of what we do as an agency. So we built something to go with it. Disha Hub, our bootstrapped B2C EdTech hub combining proprietary readiness assessments with specialised competitive mock tests to empower learners worldwide, has just launched the AEO Readiness Test Series. Disha Hub isn't new to this kind of work. For over five years, it has served more than 4 lakh users preparing for NEET, MBA entrance, and government and banking recruitment exams, all of it built without external funding, in a market otherwise dominated by heavily-funded players. That same discipline, rigorous, mock-exam-style testing, built and refined over years, is what we applied to a completely new subject: AEO.

A genuine first, not just a marketing line

Before building anything, we checked the market carefully, not once, but through independent research across multiple AI platforms. The consistent finding: AEO courses exist, certifications exist, even a few one-off readiness quizzes exist. But nowhere, in India or globally, did we find a tiered, mock-exam-style test series, multiple difficulty levels, large per-level question banks with detailed explanations, section-wise diagnostic scoring, and a public leaderboard, all in one product. What exists elsewhere is video courses ending in a single exam, or short quizzes with no depth. Based on that research, the AEO Readiness Test Series is India's first product of its kind, and, as far as we can tell, the first anywhere globally as well.

Currently in Beta, and free for a limited time

The AEO Readiness Test Series is launching under AI Search & Optimisation (Beta). Every level is completely free for a limited period at launch- no catch, no locked features- because we want as many marketers, SEO professionals, and content creators as possible to actually use it, stress-test it, and help us refine it before pricing kicks in.

How the test series works

It follows a simple idea: test, learn, rank. The Preview Test is free and offers unlimited attempts, designed to let you try the format before committing. The Foundation Starter Test covers core AEO concepts and terminology. The Intermediate Builder Test moves into applied, scenario-based questions across five sections. The Expert Mastery Test builds on the same five sections with case-study and judgment-based questions, and every answer is clearly marked as reflecting current, real-world AI search behavior, because the field is still moving, and we'd rather be honest about that than pretend AEO has settled, textbook answers. Both the Intermediate and Expert levels are built around five sections: Content & Structure, Technical & Schema, Entity & Trust Signals, Measurement & Analytics, and Strategy & Application, so results aren't just a single number.

What you actually see after each test

You get your score, accuracy percentage, All India Rank, percentage, percentile, and average time per question. A live leaderboard ranks top performers by marks and is revealed once you finish. A full performance overview visually breaks down correct, incorrect, unattempted, and not-visited questions. A direct you-versus-topper comparison shows your score, accuracy, correct and incorrect counts, and total time, side by side with the current topper. And section-wise diagnostics call out your strongest, weakest, fastest, and slowest sections explicitly, alongside a full table of attempted questions, correct answers, accuracy percentage, and time spent per section. That last part matters most. It's not just "you scored 40 out of 50." It's "you're strong in Strategy & Application but consistently slower and less accurate in Technical & Schema," the kind of insight that tells you exactly what to study next, not just how you did overall.

Why we're doing this

Most AEO training today is course-first: watch videos, then take one exam at the end. We approached it differently. Disha Hub already knew how to build a rigorous mock-test experience; they've done so for lakhs of students over the past five years. We applied that same discipline to a completely new subject: readiness for the AI search era. That's the whole idea, really: test first, learn from every answer, and see exactly where you stand against everyone else taking it. Not a course you sit through once and forget, a benchmark you can come back to and watch move. We believe AEO is about to become what SEO became over the last two decades: a skill every marketer, content creator, and brand needs to genuinely have, not just talk about. Right now, there's no standard way to prove you have it. This is our attempt to build one. The AEO Readiness Test Series is live now on Disha Hub, free for a limited time during Beta. If you work in marketing, SEO, or content, this is a good moment to find out, measurably, not anecdotally, where you actually stand.

Frequently asked questions

What is the AEO Readiness Test Series?
It's a tiered, mock-exam-style assessment on Disha Hub that tests how well you understand Answer Engine Optimisation, the practice of getting content cited directly by AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. It includes a free Preview Test, followed by Foundation, Intermediate, and Expert levels.

Is the test really free right now?
Yes. During the current Beta launch, every level- Preview, Foundation, Intermediate, and Expert- is free to access for a limited time, with no locked features.

How is this different from an AEO course or certification?
Most AEO courses are video lessons followed by a single final exam. The AEO Readiness Test Series is built as a full mock-exam experience instead, with large question banks, detailed explanations for every answer, section-wise diagnostics, and a live leaderboard, closer to how competitive exams are structured than how online courses are structured.

What do I get after completing a test?
A full performance breakdown: your score, accuracy, All India Rank, percentile, and average time per question, plus a section-wise diagnostic showing your strongest, weakest, fastest, and slowest areas, a direct comparison against the current topper, and your position on the global leaderboard.

Who is this test for?
Marketers, SEO professionals, content creators, and business owners who want to know, with an actual measurable benchmark rather than a guess, how ready they are for a search landscape increasingly driven by AI-generated answers.
